Minimalist Architecture by John Pawson
On a high, elevated plot overlooking Drevviken lies Palmgren House, designed by the renowned British architect John Pawson. The architecture is characterized by geometrically pure forms, with a sense of thought and feeling in every detail. The house’s modern and timeless design has a serene presence in the landscape.
Visitors are led to the top of the plot via a limestone staircase, where the building rises on the sloping site. The house’s private courtyard, featuring a reflecting pool, creates a sunny space between the building and the rock. A long, solid limestone bench floats along the courtyard wall and extends through the living room.
